As some of you may know I am currently on my way to Portugal! Well, the beautiful island of Sao Miguel, Acores. My mother and I decided a month ago to take a last minute, much needed trip to Portugal. I haven't been in nine years and she hasn't been in five. Her mother (my grandmother) is there and tons of my aunts, uncles and cousins whom I have not seen in almost a decade. So naturally, I am very excited. Plus, the shopping in Portugal >>>>>>>>.

If you know me, read my blog, or have any idea of the kind of person I am, you can probably imagine how difficult packing is for me (only because I want to take EVERYTHING). I somehow managed to pack (and stay under the 50 pound limit, yes!) and successfully pack a carry on as well. So, I thought I'd share with you what I'm bringing for a carry on and what I'm bringing in it. Enjoy!

For my carry on I chose my Marc by Marc Jacobs New Army Tote. Although it's not the most comfortable bag to carry on it's heavy duty, can hold a lot, and it's super cute. I wish it had a long cross body strap though, that would really help a lot. Though, I think the updated version of it comes with one (just my luck)!

In my bag I included :

  • Two pairs of sunglasses (Ray Ban Wayfarers and Prada Baroques). I couldn't decide which to wear plus didn't want to risk throwing them in my check in luggage.
  • My MAC Tartan Tale plaid bag to put in all my toiletries.
  • A small body of body spray from Victoria's Secret (under 2 oz.), which I later threw in a clear zip lock bag.
  • Outlet converter (for the European outlets).
  • Compact mirror.
  • Nikon d80 camera (not shown in photos because I used it to take photo...).
  • Laptop charger.
  • Phone charger/iPod charger.
  • Cellphone (with my staple bunny ears case, obviously).
  • Laptop.
  • Passport case ($3.95 from H&M, I love the minty green color).
  • Imodium AD (Anti diarea medicine), sorry if that's too much information but I have the WORST stomach ever and I always get sick at ALL the wrong times.
  • iPod and headphones.
  • Gum (for ear popping).
  • Hand sanitizer (under 1 oz.).
  • fresh SUGAR lip treatment.
  • Small lint roller (I bring one EVERYWHERE).
  • Lipstick case (that my sister got me from London, how cute is that?).
  • Panty liners.
  • Tampons.
  • A million hair ties.
  • Bandaids.
  • A small package of tissues.
  • Vera Bradley Night Owl cosmetic bag and brush bag (filled with my cosmetics and brushes in case I need to touch up before landing).
The only thing missing from my carry on is a good read, whether it be a magazine or book. But I'm making sure to pick one or two at the airport. Well, wish me luck! I hate airplanes and this six hour delay isn't helping. Airports are cool though, I got to watch some of the NBA draft while I was here, excited about Austin Rivers getting drafted and OKC's picks this year.

Just a little short outfit of the night for you all. I FINALLY got to debut my new bustier from Nasty Gal! Went out for drinks and hookah with a couple of the girls and I have to say that the thin mint shot is probably one of my new favorites. So unbelievably tasty mmm. ANYWAY, paired the lime bustier with a Forever 21 sheer black hi-low skirt, my Moschino belt, and my black Jeffrey Campbell Litas!

xx Kayla

P.S. Every outfit looks better with MAC Saint Germain on your lips.

I have been trying my hardest to save money and not spend it. Considering the fact that I am working no hours this summer and have a vacation coming up in two weeks, it hasn't been that hard not to buy anything lately. Although I wish I could say my addiction to shopping is seizing, that would be a big fat lie. There are a few things I would love to splurge on this summer so I thought I would share them with you. Who knows if I will ever get any of these lovely pieces in my hands by the end of the summer. Maybe after my vacation a second job would do the trick.

Jeffrey Campbell Cuffed. HOLY HOLY HOLY CRAP. This shoe is too pretty and too perfect for me not to get my hands on. I have been dying to add a colored shoe to my dull collection and this might just do the trick. Oh, let's be honest, this will definitely do the trick.

I am so ready to jump on the sneaker wedge trend and though I haven't decided whether I want to do it with the Jeffrey Campbell Gio or Venice-Hi, it needs to be done!

I'm graphic tee obsessed and UNIF and Chaser get me every time with their soft soft cotton and their edgy graphics. Plus i'd be lying if my sober ass wasn't dying for the irony of the "Weed be good together" tee by UNIF.
Every since I first saw the Cambridge Satchel I knew I had to have one. Nothing tops of an outfit like a splash of neon and I think this neon yellow bag is the perfect way to do just that.
Last but definitely not least, please please please closet Gods let my legs get into a pair of these All Saints Spitalfields dropped crotch jeans. The possibilities are endless with looks that can be done with an awesome pair of dropped crotch jeans: girly heels, awesome boots, wedge sneakers, and THE LIST GOES ON AND ON AND ON.

What is your wallet battling with this summer?

Decided to do a 7 Deadly Sins of Beauty tag after doing my fashion tag last week. I think it shows some of my most used and favorite products (besides my beloved MAC liquid last). Below is the tag and all the products that I mentioned including the ones I was wearing. Enjoy!

1. GREED: What is your most inexpensive beauty item? What is your most expensive?
2. WRATH: What beauty products do you have a love/hate relationship with?
3. GLUTTONY: What are you most delicious beauty products?
4. SLOTH: What beauty product do you neglect, due to laziness?
5. PRIDE: What beauty product gives you the most confidence?
6. LUST: What attributes do you find most attractive in the opposite gender (your preferred gender)?
7. ENVY: What items would you most like to receive as a gift?

PS. TAG YOU'RE IT!

7 Deadly Sins of Beauty Tag

Summer's here and let's be honest we are all showing a lot of skin. This is the season where feeling good in your own skin is super important. I know that in the summer if my skin is looking good then I'm feeling really great about it. So I came up with a list of some of my favorite summer care products that get me through the heat and keep me feeling fresh! Hope this helps!

Favorite Summer Care Products

1. Laura Mercier oil free tinted moisturizer with spf 20 is summer's best alternative to your liquid foundation. It has the coverage you need to cover enough your blemishes yet it is light enough for summer weather. It's a moisturizer so it obviously keeps your face feeling soft and fresh, and there's nothing better than a little spf 20 on your face all day long. Add a little bit of powder over this to add a little extra coverage and to keep it in place.

2. Fresh SUGAR lip treatment rules! This stuff keeps your lips feeling so hydrated and so soft you won't want to stop applying it. It also comes in different tints if you want to add a little bit of color to your lips.

3. EOS cucumber hand lotion not only keeps your skin feeling soft and smelling fresh, it comes in the cutest and most compact packaging.

4. Lush's Silk Stocking body tint is the perfect way to give your skin a natural looking tint and glow. It also comes in a darker tint for already golden skin that wants an extra bronze to it. It also keeps your skin feeling smooth and hydrated. I love using this on my legs!

5. Lush's lip scrub is a year round savior! It gives you the perfect smooth lips that you have always wanted and allows your lipstick to look flawless by keeping you away from that crackling lips look.

6. EOS lip balms are my forever favorite and the 'Lemon Drop' is just the right kick for the summer. The cute yellow packaging doesn't hurt either ;).

7. Lush's No Drought dry shampoo is my companion for the summer. There's nothing worse than a little bit of oily hair ruining your look or having to wash your hair just to get rid of that greasy look. This stuff will help get that grease out of your roots and keep your hair looking fresh longer without having to constantly wash it all summer long. It doesn't smell bad either!

What are your summer must have beauty/care products?

Yesterday was such a beautiful day out. I luckily got to spend the day in historical New Bedford, MA where my friends Kaitlyn O, Savanna and I got to go to a couple of cute shops, an awesome antique store, and eat at one of my favorite Mexican restaurants. MMM I am still thinking about that quesidilla.

Outfit details: Diet Coke tank from Forever 21, H&M crochet skirt, studded bag from Pac Sun, Betsey Johnson sunglasses and Jeffrey Campbell Litas.
