Who else is as excited for the fall as I am?! Transitioning pieces from season to season is something I love trying to do to keep my favorite pieces around. Keep your destroyed denim shorts, floral maxi dresses, hi low skirts, and floral denim in your closet and transition them into fall with some awesome (and some of my favorite) fall pieces.

Destroyed denim shorts

Everyone loves their favorite pair of high waisted denim cut offs, so why rid them so early? Pair your favorites with thigh high socks, printed loafers, and a quilted cross body bag. Keep yourself warm with a fatigue jacket and add a little sass with a red lip (the perfect touch)!

Floral maxi dress

Many people think a floral maxi dress is for the summer only but it's easily warmed up with a denim jacket, a beanie and some combat boots. Complete this girly/edgy look with a belt, some fun gold jewelry and a leather backpack.
The maxi skirt

The hi-low skirt was such a hit this summer, don't give up on it now! Wear it with a pop colored boyfriend tee, some studded moto boots and an awesome leather jacket. I think this canvas tote is a great way to dress it down with a cool graphic. Don't forget to add some rings! A lot of them!

Printed jeans

How awesome are floral jeans? I can't get enough! Wearing bright printed jeans this fall is easily done. Tone the colors down with some taupe pieces like a cross over sweater and some suede booties. Add somes gold cuffs, black polish and a burgundy bag for some fall color fun. This look has to be my favorite summer to fall transition and nothing tops it off like a wool floppy hat (my favorite accessory for this season) does!

FALL HURRY UP!

xxKayla
As much as I have been enjoying the summer, I'm extremely excited for the fall. Not only do I love the wardrobe transition but I'm anxious to get back to school. I know that sounds crazy, but I'm starting a new college this year and am excited for all of my courses and exploring the new campus. Whether you're a high schooler or a college commuter everyone wants to look good while being casual for class (well not everyone, there are those who prefer their daily yoga pants). I put together a few outfit ideas for back to school featuring some of my favorite summer to fall transition pieces. Hope this helps!

Back to School ONE

Sneaker wedges = cute and casual (NEW OBSESSION). Add a pair of sneaker wedges to some destroyed jeans, an edgy shredded tee, and a studded leather backpack. To accessorize throw on a grey beanie and some silver jewelry!

Back to School TWO

The perfect transition from summer to fall are the beloved tights! Add a pair of colored tights to some printed shorts, a cropped t-shirt, and some ankle booties. Throw your notebooks and lipstick into a cute denim backpack and wear some funny sunnies or vintage jewelry.

Back to School FOUR

Printed denim is making such a huge statement and I think class is a perfect place to wear a pair! When you pair a peplum top with just about anything it adds the perfect amount of fem! To edge it out a bit add a studded bag, a cute bangle, and red accessories (like lipstick and a skinny belt).

Back to School THREE

I've been obsessed with this '1991 sweatshirt top' by Wildfox Couture since I first laid eyes on it. I want to wear it with leatherette leggings, a quilted chain bag and some colorful sneaker wedges (AHH too cute). I also think a beanie and a pair of gold heart earrings give the look a piece of edge and a piece of fem (I live for that shit).

Back to School FIVE

If you've read my blog or know me personally you know about my love for all things leather (especially the jacket). The perfect way to make a cute summer dress more fall like/casual is by adding a black leather jacket and some cool leather boots (I love these cut out boots by Jeffrey Campbell, so awesome). Add some gold bangles, a contrasting leather backpack, a subtle lip color, and my favorite scent (Marc Jacobs Daisy) to complete the perfect mix between girly and rocker.

What are you wearing this school year?!

I thought I'd take one of my favorite pieces: the silk shirt, and use it as a featured item on my blog! I picked a simple silk blouse from H&M ($24.95) and decided to show the many ways to dress it up and dress it down with other pieces and accessories.

The Shirt: How to dress it down

Dressing down is a phrase that comes to mind when I think of going shopping, going out to lunch, running errands, or going to class. The silk top is definitely a piece that can be worn down in many ways:

  • Ombre cut offs, thigh high, socks, Dr Martens, and a neon bag.
  • Printed leggings (tribal, floral, galaxy, etc.), a piece of cross jewelry, and a neon bag.
  • Destroyed denim, brown riding boots, topped of with a neon bag.
Nothing says cute and casual like a messy bun or wavy hair with a beanie. Plus, wearing only mascara on your eyes during the day gives you the perfect clean slate to get ready to go out at night!

The Shirt: How to dress it up

Whether you're going to a bar/lounge, an event, a party, or out to dinner there are ways to dress up this top without looking like you're going to the office (yuck):

  • Leather skinnies, a rhinestone collar, a heeled sandal, and an awesome hard clutch.
  • Peplum skirt, some skull earrings, a heeled sandal, and a pop color clutch.
Lately there's nothing sexier than a slicked back ponytail or bun with some false lashes!

Okay so it's pretty clear to everyone who knows me that I have become some what of a shoe addict. Although my wallet wishes I could splurge on Jeffrey Campbell, Dolce Vita, Senso, Frye, and Sam Edelman shoes and boots always and forever, let's be real, I'm a broke college girl. So, to maybe help out some of you other broke college girls out there I thought I'd share a couple of inexpensive but awesome shoe finds I have stumbled upon this week!
