Who else is as excited for the fall as I am?! Transitioning pieces from season to season is something I love trying to do to keep my favorite pieces around. Keep your destroyed denim shorts, floral maxi dresses, hi low skirts, and floral denim in your closet and transition them into fall with some awesome (and some of my favorite) fall pieces.

Destroyed denim shorts

Everyone loves their favorite pair of high waisted denim cut offs, so why rid them so early? Pair your favorites with thigh high socks, printed loafers, and a quilted cross body bag. Keep yourself warm with a fatigue jacket and add a little sass with a red lip (the perfect touch)!

Floral maxi dress

Many people think a floral maxi dress is for the summer only but it's easily warmed up with a denim jacket, a beanie and some combat boots. Complete this girly/edgy look with a belt, some fun gold jewelry and a leather backpack.
The maxi skirt

The hi-low skirt was such a hit this summer, don't give up on it now! Wear it with a pop colored boyfriend tee, some studded moto boots and an awesome leather jacket. I think this canvas tote is a great way to dress it down with a cool graphic. Don't forget to add some rings! A lot of them!

Printed jeans

How awesome are floral jeans? I can't get enough! Wearing bright printed jeans this fall is easily done. Tone the colors down with some taupe pieces like a cross over sweater and some suede booties. Add somes gold cuffs, black polish and a burgundy bag for some fall color fun. This look has to be my favorite summer to fall transition and nothing tops it off like a wool floppy hat (my favorite accessory for this season) does!

FALL HURRY UP!

Spent the day getting lunch in Providence with a Andreia and Savanna walking around the city taking pictures, and discussing a new project we have in mind (EEEP I'm excited)! I am always looking for a time to wear these Motel Rocks jeans when I'm not at work, I'm OBSESSED with them. They are super stretchy and soft and make my legs look SUPER long.

PS. How perfect are these basic sandal heels I got from Zara while I was in Portugal?!

Andreia Claro is a good friend of mine and an awesome photographer/artists, check out her work on her facebook page and her tumblr.

Packing your own lunch just got cool. This $630 USD Jil Sanders leather lunch bag makes carrying around your lunch just another fall accessory. The bag is made in Italy and comes with a dust bag.

Since most of us can't imagine spending over $600 on a lunch bag (Gawd I wish I was a Kardashian),  I have also set eyes on similar (but cheaper) styles like these leather lunch bags by Marie Turnor. Marie Turnor's The Snak collection consists of several colors of these cute lunch bags ranging from $117-$135 USD. The Snak bags are handmade in California and come with invisible magnets to keep shut.

Etsy shop HomesteadLeatherWrks also made a leather lunch bag for the affordable price of $47 USD. Not only are they cute and cheap but they are backed up with a lifetime guarantee, how cool is that?

As much as I have been enjoying the summer, I'm extremely excited for the fall. Not only do I love the wardrobe transition but I'm anxious to get back to school. I know that sounds crazy, but I'm starting a new college this year and am excited for all of my courses and exploring the new campus. Whether you're a high schooler or a college commuter everyone wants to look good while being casual for class (well not everyone, there are those who prefer their daily yoga pants). I put together a few outfit ideas for back to school featuring some of my favorite summer to fall transition pieces. Hope this helps!

Back to School ONE

Sneaker wedges = cute and casual (NEW OBSESSION). Add a pair of sneaker wedges to some destroyed jeans, an edgy shredded tee, and a studded leather backpack. To accessorize throw on a grey beanie and some silver jewelry!

Back to School TWO

The perfect transition from summer to fall are the beloved tights! Add a pair of colored tights to some printed shorts, a cropped t-shirt, and some ankle booties. Throw your notebooks and lipstick into a cute denim backpack and wear some funny sunnies or vintage jewelry.

Back to School FOUR

Printed denim is making such a huge statement and I think class is a perfect place to wear a pair! When you pair a peplum top with just about anything it adds the perfect amount of fem! To edge it out a bit add a studded bag, a cute bangle, and red accessories (like lipstick and a skinny belt).

Back to School THREE

I've been obsessed with this '1991 sweatshirt top' by Wildfox Couture since I first laid eyes on it. I want to wear it with leatherette leggings, a quilted chain bag and some colorful sneaker wedges (AHH too cute). I also think a beanie and a pair of gold heart earrings give the look a piece of edge and a piece of fem (I live for that shit).

Back to School FIVE

If you've read my blog or know me personally you know about my love for all things leather (especially the jacket). The perfect way to make a cute summer dress more fall like/casual is by adding a black leather jacket and some cool leather boots (I love these cut out boots by Jeffrey Campbell, so awesome). Add some gold bangles, a contrasting leather backpack, a subtle lip color, and my favorite scent (Marc Jacobs Daisy) to complete the perfect mix between girly and rocker.

What are you wearing this school year?!

It was my sister's 27th Birthday this week! We went to the zoo together and enjoyed a delicious lunch in Providence afterwards. I love my sister and I am happy I got to spend her Birthday with her. Plus, it was such a lovely day!
I thought I'd take one of my favorite pieces: the silk shirt, and use it as a featured item on my blog! I picked a simple silk blouse from H&M ($24.95) and decided to show the many ways to dress it up and dress it down with other pieces and accessories.

The Shirt: How to dress it down

Dressing down is a phrase that comes to mind when I think of going shopping, going out to lunch, running errands, or going to class. The silk top is definitely a piece that can be worn down in many ways:

  • Ombre cut offs, thigh high, socks, Dr Martens, and a neon bag.
  • Printed leggings (tribal, floral, galaxy, etc.), a piece of cross jewelry, and a neon bag.
  • Destroyed denim, brown riding boots, topped of with a neon bag.
Nothing says cute and casual like a messy bun or wavy hair with a beanie. Plus, wearing only mascara on your eyes during the day gives you the perfect clean slate to get ready to go out at night!

The Shirt: How to dress it up

Whether you're going to a bar/lounge, an event, a party, or out to dinner there are ways to dress up this top without looking like you're going to the office (yuck):

  • Leather skinnies, a rhinestone collar, a heeled sandal, and an awesome hard clutch.
  • Peplum skirt, some skull earrings, a heeled sandal, and a pop color clutch.
Lately there's nothing sexier than a slicked back ponytail or bun with some false lashes!

Okay so lately I've been completely inspired to revamp my wardrobe and it's the perfect time to do it. It's currently August, which realistically is still summer, but my mind is preparing for full Fall mode. I am so ready to update my wardrobe this Fall with A WHOLE LOT OF BLACK and a whole lot of basics. Well, luckily for me Zara has completely read my mind. So here I'd like to share some of the items off of the US Zara site that have got my eyes googling and my heart racing. I need to get my hands on some of these this upcoming fall and pair them with some awesome ankle booties and heels.

The asymmetrical hem and the rolled up sleeves on this slouchy knit is the perfect addition to every fall wardrobe whether it's paired with leggings or leather bottoms. $79.90 USD.

This silk asymmetrical blouse has such a unique twist to my beloved silk blouse. I love the fact that it's not button down and that is has one sleeve. So edgy yet still classy! $79.90 USD.

This 100% lambskin jacket needs no caption, I'll let it's beauty speak for its self. $299 USD.

Black slouchy v-neck knit is just begging to be paired with your jeans on a cool day. $49.90 USD.

This sleeveless peplum top is the perfect fall basic to wear under anything. $19.90 USD.

No girl can ever go wrong with a black blazer! With this adorable shoulder detailing this blazer has a little bit of fun to add to all its class. $99 USD.

Dear leather Gods, thank you for these perfect no zip, 100% lambskin leggings that scream 'KIMYE'. Sincerely, Kayla. $399 USD.

This 100% lambskin jacket has a peplum bottom and a zipper all the way down the front. I'm obsessed with leather and peplum, this is the perfect combination. $249 USD.

OBSESSED. This gorgeous black peplum top has beautiful beaded detailing around the neck and is so crisp and classy it makes me want to wear all black for days. $99.90 USD.

These camouflage skinnies are to die for (not literally). Paired with a pair of heels at night or Converse Chuck Taylors by day, you cannot go wrong! $59.90 USD.

Harem pants are such an awesome trend. The drop crotch on these subtle printed pants is killer. Dr Martens by day and heels by night, these pants can do no wrong. $59.90 USD.

The greatest accessory to any all black or black/neutral outfit is NEON. I don't think neon is a summer exclusive trend at all. I think an awesome neon accessory like this multi chain necklace is such a year round piece with so much potential. $19.90 USD.

Collars and bib necklaces have been everywhere: runways, magazines, and mall stores. Paired with a sweater there is a certain delicacy and feminine touch a gold bib necklace like this give off. $29.90 USD.

Alexander McQueen started a huge fashion movement with his clutches and this spiked evening clutch reminds me of just that. Don't let the word evening get to you. Yeah, it would look killer with a tight ass dress and some sky high heels, but bring it to the bar with your favorite Guns N Roses tee and some black jeans (talk about hott). $89.90 USD.

Now that I have shared some of my wish list items and must haves for this upcoming fall season I am curious as to what is on your must have fall list, so share!

xxKayla
